It is high time the American people, including pastors, begin to tell the IRS and anyone else to shove it up their noses. The first amendment doesn’t become null and void behind the pulpit.

The Federal government has no authority to tell pastors or anyone else, they are not allowed to speak out about politics.
The laws in our land restrict the federal government from promoting religious beliefs…. they do not restrict religious people from promoting their political beliefs. Pastors have the legal backing to tell the IRS to shut up, not the other way around.

Or, how about churches just give up their 501c3 status.
What is unconstitutional about giving people money and asking that money only be used in specific ways.
Which is what tax exemption is. It’s free money.

A-A-AAAAAAY-MEN!!!! I am evangelical, but I think evangelicalism has gutted the American church of it’s backbone. We want to “just preach Jesus” and leave DISCIPLESHIP to the individual while we wander around being careful not to “judge” anyone or offend them.

Although I am a conservative-minded pastor, I am opposed to these kinds of civil disobedience. The Scripture calls us to submit to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake, even those we don’t like. If we don’t like a law, we elect people who can change the law; we shouldn’t disobey the law unless it is calling us to disobey Christ, which this clearly is not. The church should address moral issues publicly and freely but stay out of politicking. It isn’t our mission. The Gospel is. Let’s stick to that.
